Research in the community

Jean Moulin Lyon 3 University works to disseminate reliable, high-quality knowledge to a wide audience, subject to the rules governing scientific processes. This commitment is underpinned by a wealth of activities designed to promote the ideal of equal access to knowledge. This convergence of science and society is the result of interaction between the fields of expertise of its researchers and the actors in the socio-economic and cultural world.

More broadly, the University is part of two converging movements: open science, which aims to share research data and results, and science with and for society (SwafS). These movements share the same ambitions: to restore trust in science, combat misinformation, encourage critical thinking among citizens and feed democratic debate.

The University is therefore fully committed to its mission of disseminating and promoting research, in a variety of forms, from publication to knowledge transfer, in particular with the technology transfer acceleration company Pulsalys.

To this end, our University offers a range of initiatives aimed at the general public, socio-economic and cultural actors and public institutions:
  • Outreach and popularising knowledge;
  • Partnerships (with socio-economic and cultural actors and public institutions);
  • Expertise and support for public decision-making;
  • Involving professionals in research.
